Project Waltzing Matilda
It wasn't that long ago that Australians had a love for Australia as a very unique country. We have a very rich culture that seems to have been overrun by overseas cultures. These days you're more likely to hear an American song on the radio than anything about the country we call home - Australia.
So, why Project Waltzing Matilda? The name, as you will have guessed by now, comes from Australia's most well-known song, Waltzing Matilda, which was written by bush poet, Banjo Paterson. It started off as a poem about a bushman on the run from the law and is rich with Australian colloquialism that sets our unique culture apart from the rest of the world.
As such, we've decided to dedicate a section purely on Australian literature that is within the public domain and try to simulate the patriotism of Australia once more. Who's with us?
